Conclusion - My opinion to the mystery of stonehenge
There are 40 stone circles and all but 3 are found in the formerly Celtic lands on the United Kingdom and Ireland, which shows that stone circles were quite significant to the Celtic people. There is also evidence, which shows that these stone circles were organised in a way, which has astronomical significance. In Particular at Stonehenge evidence exists of a detailed astronomical system where the sun shone through the stones like a channel and showed the position of the sun at solstices during sunset and sunrise as shown in Clues 3,5 and 7. It also showed the positioning of the moon at its maximum and minimum elogations. Yes the bluestones may indicate a healing site however there is too little evidence supporting this theory. I believe that the stones were brought from the preseli Mountains to stonehenge from the Marlborough Downs. In regards to who built Stonehenge, I believe that it was in fact completed in three stages by the Windmill people, Beaker people and Wessex people as shown in G.S. Hawkins book 'Stonehenge Decoded'. In any case what can be learnt from Stonehenge is this - That they were a highly developed society and not your Stereotypical 'Neolithic Brutes' as the people of the Bronze Age have so often been referred to.
